When you visit Pomonal Estate, you see the vineyard, the mountains, the accommodation, our wines and the warm country welcome. Behind it all is a family story built on a dream, hard work, family support and a deep love for the Grampians.
For us, Pomonal Estate has never been just a business. It is our home, our family and a reflection of the wonderful community that has supported us for more than two decades.

Our Journey Began in Pomonal

We have called Pomonal home since 2001, falling in love with its beautiful landscape, abundant wildlife and welcoming community. It is where we raised our two daughters and, more recently, welcomed our third daughter into our family through adoption. Our girls have grown up alongside Pomonal Estate, sharing in the hard work, challenges and rewards of building a family business.

Turning a Dream into Reality

In 2014, we began exploring the possibility of owning a winery, visiting more than 23 wineries, hospitality venues and tourism businesses across Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. Yet, every time we travelled away, we knew we wanted to come home to Pomonal.

A conversation with Nadya from the Pomonal General Store opened our eyes to the potential of developing our own land for tourism. With the encouragement and generous support of Adam’s Mum and stepdad, we took the leap and began building Pomonal Estate from the ground up.

With no established vineyard, cellar door or accommodation, we started with a vision and plenty of determination. We planted our vines, developed the property and worked towards creating a place we could proudly share with others.

On 20 December 2017, Pomonal Estate officially opened its doors. It remains one of the proudest moments of our journey.

More Than a Winery

Today, Pomonal Estate brings together our vineyard, wines, handcrafted beers, and luxury accommodation, all surrounded by the natural beauty of the Grampians.

We have always wanted to create more than a place to enjoy wine. Our vision is to offer a welcoming destination where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, celebrate special occasions and create lasting memories.

The addition of IRIS Restaurant & Wine Bar, onsite, owned and operated by Executive Chef Dean Sibthorp and the Block & Cleaver team, adds another wonderful dimension to the estate, celebrating exceptional food, wine and hospitality.

Our Community, Our Pride

One of our greatest achievements has been the people who have shared this journey with us. Over the years, Pomonal Estate has provided employment for more than 40 local people, supporting families, developing skills and contributing to our regional community.

We are also humbled to have received recognition through local business, hospitality, tourism, wine and sustainability awards, including being named Business of the Year three times and becoming a finalist in the 2025 Victorian Tourism Industry Council Awards.

While these achievements mean a great deal to us, our greatest reward is welcoming guests, building friendships and knowing we have created something meaningful in the community we love

Looking Ahead

Our dream has never been about becoming the biggest. It has always been about creating something special – a place our family, community and future generations can be proud of.

We look forward to continuing to care for our vineyard, support local businesses and producers, and share the beauty of the Grampians with visitors from near and far.
